Today was the first Nintendo Direct of 2015, and boy did it have some content. You can watch the full thing HERE, but below are the major announcements:

  • New Fire Emblem game  – 3DS
  • Puzzle & Dragons Z/Super Mario Bros. P&D – 3DS: May 2015
  • Pokemon Shuffle – 3DS: February 2015
  • Wii games will now be coming to the Wii U eshop and played from the Wii U menu. Initial releases are Super Mario Galaxy 2 (today), Punchout (22) and Metroid Prime Trilogy (29). If games used the classic controller originally, the Wii U gamepad can be used to play the game. All games will release for $9.99 the first week and spike to $19.99 after.
  • New Amiibo wave was announced for the spring, which includes 6 new figures.
  • Secondary “Super Mario Bros” Amiibo line was also announced, which will feature new Mario series characters. These will work with Smash Bros. and Mario Party 10. A Toad was also announced, which will work with MP10 and Captain Toad. MP10 will release on March 10, as well as the new Amiibo line that work with the game.
  • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will feature Amiibo functionality, which will add once a day power ups to Kirby if the Kirby, King Dedede, or Metaknight Amiibo are scanned. Rainbow Curse is set to release on Feb. 20th
  • Splatoon is set for a May release on the Wii U. It will feature huge character customization, which will later character stats. In addition, there will be three weapons utilized in matches, including the main, a sub weapon, and a special weapon. These also feature customization.
  • Hyrule Warriors will have a new Majora’s Mask DLC pack, which will include Tingle and Young Link as playable characters. In addition, there will be new maps and character skins included.
  • Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Star set to release on the 3DS and Wii U eshop on March 5th. Purchasing one version will automatically give you a download code for the other version.
  • New 3DS XL set to release on February 13th. This will feature several updates including face tracking 3D, c-stick integration, NFC figure support, improved wifi and surfing, along with improved processing power.
  • Releasing the same day are special edition New 3DS XL models for Majora’s Mask and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. If you want the MM one, you’re pretty much shit out of luck. They sold out online within 15 minutes.
